I hope all of you enjoyed our Independence
celebration on July the 4th. When you think of the sacrifices
that were made by the founders of this great nation I know all of are
proud to be called Americans.
We at veteran’s corner are happy to help our Veterans when there is
a need. Thursday at Goldsby we had a total of
116 who stopped by for assistance with 33of them being there for the
first time. We continue to try and work everyone thru as quickly as
possible. We had two brothers one from Tulsa
and the other from Enid who stopped by to apply for VA benefits.
We are receiving request from every part of our state for
assistance. Our percentages of claims that are approved continue to stay
in the 96% range. There were 8 men who were rated 100% by the VA and over
20 who received ratings from 10% to 90% last week.
Our weekly lunch continues to be a favorite for many of our
veterans and guest. As usual, one of the men who receive a 100% rating
sponsors lunch. We also have a benevolence fund that anyone can donate
to. We use this money to help our needy veterans and dependents or
widows. We also assist those who need to travel to their VA appointments.
If you have some to stop by for a visit about your VA benefits and
maybe stay for lunch at Libby’s restaurant with us. We continue to need
more help assisting our veterans with their claims. Also there is a need
for someone to drive veterans to appointments.
