I’m very pleased to say that more of our local Veterans stepped up
to help us at Goldsby and Norman to process the
claims. The amount of time that each Veteran spends waiting has been cut
in half with this added help.
Thanks to these men and women who care about our Veterans and want
to help. We were able to work over100 veterans and spouses by noon
last Thursday. We have also stated helping our needy Veterans and widows
by paying for some of their food needs with the donations that we receive
from the men and women that we are able to help.
We have also tried to expand the number of drivers that are willing
to transport those who need a ride to their QTC appointments. These men
are doing an outstanding job. Ken Moore, Clayton Lee, EJ Branch , Bill Branch , Sid
Smith and Don Tallant.
Our local Thursday lunch at Libby’s is very successful with an
average attendance of 75. As usual, the Veteran of the week sponsors
lunch for the rest of us. The Veteran who drove the longest distance was
from the Guthrie area. We had 8 Veterans who were approved for the 100%
rate and many others rated from 10% to 80%. There were 2 from the Iraq
war who stopped by with questions about benefits that they may be
entitled to. If you would like to stop by for a visit at Goldsby there is always coffee, doughnuts and lots of
good company.
If you need help dealing with the Veterans Administration stop by and maybe we can help you with those issues.
