Our local Veterans enjoyed a very
another very successful week with several of them receiving a 100% rating
from the Veterans Administration Regional office in Muskogee. There were over 100 Veterans
claims processed Thursday with 30 of those being first timers. It would
not be possible to help the large number of Veterans who stop by our
Veterans Corner in Goldsby without the dedicated staff who volunteer
their time and effort to support those who have done so much for our
country.
We are continuing to seek more
volunteers to help us fill the needs of our Veterans. At the present time
we need a computer person to keep our records. There is always a need for
more men and women to help fill out applications for VA medical and other
types of benefits.
We had 88 in attendance for lunch at
Libby’s on Thursday sponsored by our Veterans of the week Mr. Eaves of Washington and Mr.
Moore of Dibble. Our thanks go out to these men for their service to our
country.
There are more Gulf War men and
women stopping by with questions about benefits that they maybe eligible
for. Many of these Veterans could be facing health related problems caused
by exposure to chemical agents that they were exposed to. We will try to
help them stay informed about any information that becomes available.
